Young Musician of the Year 2021
Live music returned to the Nova stage with an amazing display of talent as scholars performed for the title of Nova Hreod Academy Young Musician of the Year. There was a total of 14 performances, ranging from drum soloists, bands and a performance from the school choir, and every single student taking part was exceptional.
It was a real treat to see scholars performing in front of an audience again, and at the end of the evening first place was awarded to Year 11 student Gonçalo who performed an impressive piano solo.
Tom Griffiths, Head of Music at Nova, said: "the audience and judges were blown away by the talent on stage. Swindon Music Service, who were on the judging panel, were so impressed that they have offered free tuition at their music clubs for every single performer, a total of 35 performers. This is an amazing opportunity for all of them and we are very grateful to them for judging the event and for their generous offer."
Everyone worked hard to put on a fantastic show; the performers put in an incredible amount of time and practice, the audience were fantastic, and the standard of support from the technical team was highly professional.
Congratulations to everyone who made the evening so special.
