Remembrance service at Swindon Academy

Barbara Freeman / Categories: News

Students from Nova Hreod Academy were invited to the Remembrance Service held by Swindon Academy on 11 November. Mrs Lindley (Head of Year 9) accompanied students from Years 7 8 and 9.

In the week leading up to the service, students in Years 7 and 8 designed individual poppies to decorate each of five wreaths. During the service, the wreaths were laid by students around the indoor memorial.

Mrs Lindley reported the students as being a credit to the school and we were congratulated on both the standard and design of the wreaths. It was a privilege to attend.

We would like to thank Swindon Academy for our invitation to this event.

Students at Nova Hreod Academy also observed two minute silence in school and helped to raise funds for the Royal British Legion by selling poppies.
