Children in Need Day

Whole school helps to raise funds for Children in Need

On Monday 9th November, we held a fundraising day to raise money for BBC Children in Need.

Tutor groups in Years 7, 8 and 9 organised their own fundraising activities which they ran in the Atrium, including 9N5’s exciting treasure hunt and 9N2’s raffle, which resulted in Olly the Owl and Lizzy the Lizard both finding new owners. 8N2 got everyone guessing how many sweets in the jar (the correct answer was 212; congratulations to Ashley in 8N1 who had the closest guess and won the sweets!)

All the tutor groups worked very hard to organise their stalls which also included a treasure map, guess the name of the teddy, penalty shoot-out, stalls selling cakes, sweets and toys, and many, many more, which all helped to raise extra money.

The main attraction was outside in the Splash Zone, where, for a small donation, students could throw at wet sponge at their teachers. Mr Barton, Mr Berry, Mrs Locke and Mr Thomas valiantly stepped up to the stocks and helped us boost the funds. Some of the students even made a larger donation and swapped a sponge for a bucket!

Due to the hard work and generosity of everyone involved, we were able to raise a fantastic £1,173.26.
